The Office of Surface Mining's (OSM's) Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) offers proactive technical assistance, including reclamation bonding support, to States, Tribes, and Western Regional Coordinating Center mine teams, as well as OSM Headquarters, regions, field offices, and stakeholders (among them industry, consultants, academia, and citizens). OTT also conducts workshops for, and affords advanced education opportunities in computer applications to, OSM staff, States, Tribes, industry, academia, the interested public, and consultants. OTT's goal in all these endeavors is to furnish its stakeholders the opportunity to share technical information, knowledge, and the tools necessary for them to make final bond-release evaluations.
